NURS 420 - Community Health Nursing

Credit Hours: 4
This course focuses on synthesizing nursing knowledge and community health principles as they relate to population health. The concepts of community health nursing, epidemiology, levels of prevention, and health promotion/health education are emphasized. Students are given the opportunity to manage nursing care to vulnerable populations in a variety of community settings. Total Course Hours: 37.5 hours theory, 15 hours lab, 60 hours clinical. Special Fee applies (see “SPECIAL FEES” in the FINANCE section of this Bulletin). (Offered fall/spring)
Prerequisite(s): NURS 317 NURS 318 NURS 319 NURS 320 NURS 327 NURS 328 NURS 331 , and NURS 332 
Corequisite(s): NURS 400  or NURS 450 .
