Study of biological diversity and its value, threats to biodiversity, conservation at population and species levels, environmental ethics, extinction, protecting, managing and restoring ecosystems, and landscape ecology. Students will develop specific skills, competencies, and points of view needed by conservation biologists by analyzing, interpreting, and presenting scientific information, critically examining case studies and reading peer-reviewed literature, and writing a grant proposal.
