A continuation of PHYS 220. Topics include: electromagnetism (electricity, magnetism, circuits), optics (light propagation, geomechanics, and physical optics), and modern physics (relativity, quantum mechanics, atomic and nuclear theory). A laboratory experience is included which utilizes statistical, algebraic and trigonometric (pre-calculus) skills to conduct measurements, analyze data and develop physical understanding. (Offered spring semester.) Prerequisite(s): PHYS 220; Corequisite(s): PHYS 221L.
