Comprehensive chronological study of Western art music from ancient times through the baroque era with an emphasis on perception skills. Additional content will include an introduction to musicological writing and research skills, an understanding of the social and political conditions of each period. Prerequisite(s): MUSIC 120, MUSIC 233, MUSIC 237 and MUSIC 238 or MUSIC 235 and MUSIC 236.
