EDUC 532 - Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment: Theory into Practice Educational Change, focuses on the problems, issues, and possibilities of bringing change to the educational arena. It explores the influences on the education system from many levels including national, state, local, community, school and classroom. Students will also reflect on their own experiences and the possibilities of becoming visionaries of change. The activities in this class coincide with the University mission of preparing individuals to be knowledgeable, independent, critical thinkers who are inspired to be morally reflective and civically engaged. In addition, the activities of this class coincide with the philosophy of the School of Social Sciences and Education by creating a climate of intellectual inquiry that focuses on freedom to explore a variety of educational options. Through readings, writings, and class discussion, individuals will investigate theories and philosophies around best practices in the educational change process. The class will be presented in a hybrid manner, meeting on campus for five sessions during the semester.
