Finance Major


A minimum of 124 semester hours is required for all undergraduate degrees for graduation. Some majors may require more than 124 credits.

Residency requirements:


At least 12 hours of major requirements must be taken in residence at Capital University, not including the Business Core.

Suggested Additional Coursework:


  • Students interested in financial planning and financial services should consider taking additional courses such as BUS 210 , BUS 412 , BUS 413 , and BUS 414 .
  • Careers in government service and public administration should consider taking additional courses such as ECON 361  and courses in Political Science.
  • Careers in corporate finance should consider taking additional courses such as BUS 347 , BUS 412 , BUS 414 BUS 415 , and BUS 417 .
  • Careers in International Business should consider taking additional courses such as ECON 337 , and foreign languages.
  • Graduate study in finance or economics should consider taking additional courses such as ECON 320 , MATH 230 , and MATH 231 .
