Business Management Major

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

Students in this major are encouraged to consider an additional major from outside the School of Management and Leadership and/or a minor either within or outside the School of Management and Leadership. Business Management majors CANNOT have a second major from within the School of Management and Leadership.


Business Core


The Business Core program provides a broad foundation in the five areas of accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing plus a working knowledge of quantitative methods and information systems. 

Business Core Requirements


Signature Learning  courses (with exemptions from the Quantitative Reasoning and Social Science requirements); ECON 101 or ECON 115; BUS 101; 131, 201, 211, 213, 221, 240, 242, 246, 260, 325, 390, 450; Math 120; Math 215. Students majoring or minoring in any area of business must earn at least a C- in BUS-101. If necessary, students may repeat BUS-101 to achieve this minimum. 

Additional Requirements:


Plus at least 9 hours of elective outside of BUS.

Residence:


At least 12 hours of BUS courses must be taken at Capital University.

  • Natural Science (Students must take a minimum of six (6) credit hours of Natural Science and the laboratory science requirement) *
