NURS 221 - Nursing Therapeutics, Self Care and Health Promotion(4) Introduces students to the role of the nurse in providing basic nursing care to well individuals across the life span. Explores concepts of nursing process, health promotion, therapeutic communication, teaching-learning and systems. Skills essential to nursing practice and self-care are emphasized. The course will include theory and laboratory components. May be scheduled concurrently with NURS 110 , BIOL 232 , NURS 201 , NURS 202 . Direct admission into the nursing program and sophomore standing in nursing. (3 credits and 1 credit per lab per week for 15 weeks) Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of BIOL 231 , BIOL 280 at a C or above and UC 110 , UC 120 .
