EDUC 211 - Foundations of Primary Childhood Education

Credit Hours: 4
This course provides basic knowledge of the foundations of early/primary childhood education. The course introduces students to the historical and socio-cultural forces that have impacted the field along with contemporary early childhood programs and models, theories of play and developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum. The course is linked to the field component of EDUC 201  and includes a case study analysis of developmental domains utilizing a variety of assessment techniques. (Offered fall/spring)
Prerequisite(s): EDUC 101  and EDUC 151 .
Corequisite(s): EDUC 201 .
