MSW 635 - Social Action and Advocacy I


Social workers engage in social action to advocate for change. This course is the first of two courses that examines the methods and means used by social workers who engage in social change including lobbying, mobilizing, and organizing models. Students learn the suppositions about change including identifying goals, engaging activists, stakeholders and decision makers, targeting change, identifying/accessing resources, and carefully drafting a change strategy. (Offered fall)
