CHEM 210 - Organic Chemistry of Biological Molecules(3)
The course is intended as a one-semester pathway to biochemistry. Topics include structure and bonding of organic molecules, functional groups, stereochemistry, nomenclature, physical and chemical properties and biological functions of alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, carbohydrates, carboxylic acids and their diratives, lipids, amines, amino acids, and proteins. This course does not satisfy the prerequisites for CHEM 232 Organic Chemistry II . Prerequisite(s): CHEM 102 Chemical Principles IIA .
