Capital University Department of Nursing Curriculum Plan Traditional Undergraduate Program


Freshman year:


6 General Education Goals to be taken during the first four semesters include:


  • Reading & Writing,
  • Global Awareness*,
  • Oral Communication*,
  • Fine Arts*,
  • Religion* and
  • Cultural Pluralism*

Spring Semester

Distribution of courses


General Education Goal for Traditional Undergraduate Program


Reading and Writing, Oral Communication, The Arts, Religion, The Humanities, Global Issues, Cultural Pluralism and Ethical Thought.

Nursing majors are waived from General Education requirements for Quantitative Reasoning, The Social Sciences, and The Natural Sciences, by virtue of content in the major.

General Electives


  • General Electives (5 - 6 credit hours) will be adjusted to meet the 124 required hours to graduate.

Notes:


  • Online courses in science need to be pre-approved.
  • Science courses for transfer credit must include a lab component.
  • Transfer student curriculum plans will vary depending on amount of transfer credit.
  • ROTC students will be enrolled in Military Science classes each term.
