The minor in Ethnic Studies is designed to provide opportunities for the systematic study of ethnic groups within the United States. Students benefit from a wide range of perspectives in the study of cultural diversity. This is a reflection of Capital’s commitment to multicultural education.

Requirements of Minor:

UC 270 - Cultural Pluralism 3
CLS 260 - African - American History and Culture (4)
CLS 495 - Internship (1-6)
and six hours from the following:
CLS 250 - Native American Religions (3)
CLS 251 - Communication and Culture (3)
CLS 310 - Sociology of Sex and Gender (4)
or any ethnic literature course
SOC 390 - Social Stratification-Race, Ethnicity, Class, and Gender (4)
