Mathematics Major with Education Licensure

  • Note: This program prepares the student to seek licensure for teaching mathematics in grades 7-12 in the schools of Ohio. Information regarding the Completion of the Adolescent Adolescence to Young Adult teacher licensure program may be found under the School of Education of this Bulletin. 

Signature Learning Requirements for Mathematics Education Licensure Majors:


  • First Year Seminar - EDUC 151 EDUC 151 - Foundations of the Education Profession  
  • Reading and Writing (Grade of C or better required)
  • Oral Communication (Grade of C or better required)
  • Ethics 
  • Quantitative Reasoning - (Requirement fulfilled with Major)
  • Religion 
  • Fine Arts *
  • Social Science - (Requirement fulfilled with Major)
  • Cultural Pluralism *
  • Natural Science - (Requirement fulfilled with Major) 
  • Humanities 
  • Global Systems

NOTE:  The Quantitative Reasoning, Natural Science, and Social Science Signature Learning goals are fulfilled for Mathematics majors with education licensure
