Communication Major with Education License

Requirements for Communication major with education license


In addition to the above majors, students may complete the Adolescent to Young adult teacher licensure program for Integrated Language Arts with a Communication major. This program prepares the student to seek licensure for teaching all language arts in grades 7-12 in Ohio public schools. Information regarding this licensure program may be found under the School of Education of this bulletin.

Signature Learning Requirements for Communication Majors:


  • First Year Seminar
  • Reading and Writing
  • Oral Communication
  • Ethics
  • Quantitative Reasoning 
  • Fine Arts - (Requirement fulfilled by major)
  • Social Science 
  • Religion  
  • Natural Science * (Students must take six (6) credit hours of Natural Science (the combination of the Natural Science and Society requirement and the Laboratory Science requirement)
  • Humanities 
  • Global Systems
