Master of Arts in Education in Teaching

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Degree Requirements

The Master of Arts in Education in Teaching program views teachers as leaders and researchers, and classrooms as laboratories for learning communities. It weaves emphasis on research, effective use of technology, culturally responsive teaching and broad respect for diversity and inclusion throughout the graduate student experience - from entry to the program to the Capstone Research Project.

Capital believes the best learning occurs with high-impact practices. Professors will engage you in applied research and data analysis to deepen professional teaching practice, extend teaching skills and competencies and enhance learning outcomes. Working with your graduate faculty member, you will design and conduct an applied research project.

Additional graduate-level program options in TESOL Endorsement (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Reading Endorsement are available. All programs align with National Board Certification requirements and the Ohio Master Teacher Framework.
