Requirements for history major with education licensure
Complete 36 hours in history including
two non-western courses and eight additional hours of history, at least four hours at 300 or 400 level
Signature Learning Requirements for History/Education Licensure Majors:
- First Year Seminar-EDUC 151 EDUC 151 - Foundations of the Education Profession (Grade of C or better required)
- Reading and Writing (Grade of C or better required)
- Oral Communication (Grade of C or better required)
- Ethics
- Fine Arts
- Religion
- Social Science - (Requirement fulfilled by Major)
- Cultural Pluralism
- Natural Science - Students must take a minimum of SIX (6) credit hours of Natural Science courses (the combination of the Natural Science and Society requirement and the Laboratory Science requirement).
- Humanities
- Global Systems

Notes:
In addition to the history major, students complete the adolescent to young adult licensure program for integrated social studies. This program prepares the student to seek licensure for teaching social studies in grades 7-12 in public schools. Information regarding the licensure program may be found under the School of Education section of this bulletin.
