Political Science Major with Education Licensure

Requirements for Political Science major with education licensure

In addition to the political science major, students may complete the adolescent to *young adult licensure program for integrated social studies. This program prepares the student to seek licensure for teaching all social studies in grades 7-12 in the schools of Ohio. Information regarding this licensure program may be found under the Education Department  section of this bulletin.

The requirements are as follows:

(Political Science Integrated Social Studies majors are exempt from Signature Learning  Global Awareness and Social Science Goals.)

• Political Science Core (23 hours)

• POLS 105 - American Govern and Politics
• POLS 120 - Introduction to Political Theory
• POLS 210 - International Relations
• POLS 230 - Comparative Politics
• SOSCI 210 - Social Science Statistics
• SOSCI 220 - Social Science Research Methods
• Foreign Language: 8 hours in a foreign language (or proficiency test). American Sign Language is not included.

Choose one: 

• POLS 495 - Political Science Internship

• or

• POLS 498 - Senior Thesis
