Mission Statement:

The mission of the mathematics, computer science, and physics department is to prepare students for careers and graduate school in their respective majors and minors, including mathematics, mathematics education, computer science, data science, and physics. Our programs develop the problem-solving and analytical skills that help students be successful in a wide variety of career paths. The department’s faculty focus on developing skills that, when combined with a strong liberal arts core, not only prepare students for immediate employment but also prepare them to be lifelong learners who can adapt to ongoing, technological change.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will apply critical reasoning skills to model and solve physics-related problems.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret physical data.
