PHYS 220 - General Physics I(4) A calculus-based introduction to the fundamental principles of physics. Topics include: mechanics (linear and rotational kinematics, statics, energy), wave mechanics (harmonic motion, sound) and thermodynamics (thermal properties of matter, gas laws, thermal energy). A laboratory experience is included which utilizes statistical, algebraic and trigonometric (pre-calculus) skills to conduct measurements, analyze data and develop physical understanding. Offered fall semester. Prerequisite(s): MATH 230 , MATH 231 , MATH 225 , or MATH 330 . Corequisite(s): PHYS-220L
