An in-depth study of the sound system of the Spanish language in Spain and the Americas, including extensive practice in listening, speaking and transcribing using the International Phonetic Alphabet in view of improving oral expression and listening comprehension. Includes work on intonation, syllabic division, rhythmic stress, and accent. Prerequisite(s): SPAN 230 ; or permission of instructor.
