The history of the “rebirth” of ancient Greco-Roman culture in the period between 1000-1500 CE. This course examines the achievements of Islamic and Byzantine societies and how these political, economic, social, religious and cultural achievements fed into Italian cities, developing into the European Renaissance. (Offered spring-even years.)
