Sustainable Supply Chains requires thorough understanding of the process of planning, implementing and controlling the effective, efficient flow and storage of goods, services, and related information from point of origin to point of consumption for the purpose of conforming customer requirements. From the perspective of sustainability, this research-intensive course will cover the state-of-the-art literature and best industry practices in LSC management. Sample research topics include coordination and contract design in LSC, shipment consolidation, demand management, operational entrepreneurship, humanitarian logistics, information systems in LSC not-for-profit operations, e-tailing, distribution networks, simulation of system-wide performance in services, optimal design of freight tariffs and interfaces between finance, marketing and operations.
