NURS 401 - Health Assessment

This course is designed to synthesize and increase knowledge, skills and expertise in all aspects of health assessment. In addition, the course will provide an introduction to electrophysiology and electrocardiology. Anatomy, physiology, action potentials and interpretation of cardiac rhythm strips are highlighted and cardiac dysrhythmias as (including, genus, atrial, junctional, ventricular, AV blocks and paced rhythms) are examined. By completion of the semester, students can perform complete health assessments and determine appropriate nursing interventions to assist clients in assuming self-responsibility maintaining / attaining their own health, analyze basic ECG strips, and critically thinking through treatment of dysrhythmias.
