An introduction to the discipline of environmental science, an interdisciplinary field concerned with investigating the nature and interactions of the hydrosphere, geosphere, atmosphere and biosphere. Major topics include biogeochemical cycles, physical and chemical oceanography, ecology, population dynamics, natural resources, meteorology and climate change, and contemporary societal issues such as waste management, and air and water pollution. Collection and analysis of field and laboratory data using statistical, graphical and critical thinking skills. (Also offered as ENVS 250 .) Offered fall of odd years.
