NURS 661 - Performance Enhancement in Healthcare

This course examines perspectives on quality and safety in healthcare organizations. Students will learn how to develop a process and performance improvement (PPI) program by examining a variety of models, strategies, tools and metrics. Patient safety, safety culture, and risk management concepts and activities will also be discussed. Lastly, students will gain an appreciation for the contribution of interdisciplinary teamwork and group process, to support quality and safety performance enhancement. (Offered spring)
