EDUC 564 - Ethical and Legal Issues in Counseling

This course provides a thorough exploration of the American Counseling Association ethics, legal standards, and professional counselor responsibilities. Topics include professional responsibility, competence, confidentiality, professional relationships, and licensing. Personal values, morals, and ethics will be explored in order to deepen the connection to professionalism and the field’s set of ethical guidelines. Decision-making and consultation skills will be discussed.
