MN 3502 - Pastoral Care of African American Families

An examination of the pastoral care and counseling dynamics inherent in providing quality “cultural specific” pastoral care to African American families, congregations and communities. Attention will focus upon developing an innovative pastoral paradigm, which promotes and fosters spiritual/emotional empowerment, healing/growth and addresses the Psycho/social/environmental self-identity issues of the African American community. Pastoral care modalities from an African American context will be examined.
