MN 2518 - Disability Ministry

This course exposes and orients students to the ministry of inclusion of persons with disabilities in the local church as disability has not achieved the attention and commitment of the Church equal to its ubiquitousness in American society. It addresses the dimensions of sensory, physical, developmental, and mental disabilities as found in contemporary society from a disabilities studies perspective; the biblical, historical, theological, and ethical dimensions of disability; and implications of disability ministry for the congregation in its worship, nurture, community life, evangelism and outreach.
