MSW 680 - Federal Level Advocacy and Social Policy Analysis


Social workers fulfill advocacy roles to empower oppressed and vulnerable groups. This course examines the role of social work in analyzing and impacting federal policy to target vulnerable populations. Students learn the purposes of legislative policy, the role of advocacy, strategies, tactics, and barriers. Finally, guidelines are reviewed and applied to support successful legislative advocacy from an anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework. (Offered spring)
