MSW 650 - Practice and Program Evaluation I

Social workers evaluate practice and programs for efficacy to contribute to evidence-based practices. They engage in practice informed research and research informed practice. This is the first of two courses in practice and program evaluation. The first focuses on learning principles and techniques of practice and program evaluation, identifying an intervention and/or program service familiar to the student to evaluate. Students complete Capstone Project Proposal, articulating a problem and using a review of the literature to inform the methodology consistent with the design/evaluation strategy, and prepare for data collection that occurs in SWK 690.
