This course builds on the knowledge of systems & ecological theories, and MSL (Multi-system Life Course Model) to inform evidence-based intervention models used in various service delivery systems to effect client change. This course focuses on individuals as well as family systems. Students are introduced to the DSM-5, learn ethical considerations of using a pathology model, and engage a strengths-based perspective in assessment, treatment, evaluation, and discharge planning with individuals and families.
