HTS 2221 - Spiritual But Not Religious (CHIW)

This course examines the phenomenon of “spiritual but not religious” (SBNRs) in the U.S. through a study of the history of “spirituality” in America, particularly in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and the current beliefs and practices of SBNRs. Students will also consider the impact of this movement on the church, and the church’s response.
