NURS 412 - Professional Role in the Health Care System

Offers students transition strategies as they move into professional nursing practice. The course examines the role of the professional nurse with consideration given to political, social, economic, legal, and ethical dimensions of that role and the structure and process of the health care system. Issues of nursing management and leadership are integrated into the course. (2 credits lecture (2 hrs./week) per 15 weeks).  Prerequisite(s): Senior standing. Satisfactory completion of NURS 365 and NURS 326 (or NURS 327, NURS328, NURS 331, and NURS 332), NURS 317, NURS 318, NURS 319, and NURS 320. Corequisite(s): This course is taken concurrently with NURS 463. (Offered Fall/Spring.)
