CS 230 - Introduction to Database Systems

An introduction to the theoretical foundations and practical uses of database systems, with emphasis on the relational database model. Topics include the entity-relationship model, design and normalization of relational database tables, SQL, transaction management, and concurrency control. (Offered fall semester, odd years.) Prerequisite(s): CS 160 .
