NURS 304 - Culture and Health(2) This course focuses on the challenges of nurses to provide culturally competent care to members of a multicultural society. Students will examine the effects of cultural beliefs and practices that influence both family health care practices as well as health care delivery. A variety of theoretical models of cultural competency and cultural assessment tools are examined. Selected cultural practices will be examined with more depth. The course will provide opportunities for students to investigate specified topics in discussion papers online. (2 credits = 2 hours theory/week x 15 weeks = 30 hours). Prerequisite(s): No pre-requisites but basic computer literacy is required. Open to all students including non-nursing majors.
