MUSIC 381 - Piano Pedagogy(4) Comprehensive course dealing with the teaching of beginning, elementary, and intermediate level piano students of all ages. Class members will be shown how to analyze, evaluate, and use a variety of teaching methods and materials. Additional topics include: musicianship skills for elementary students; curriculum design; lesson planning; keyboard technology; in-class performances of examples from piano literature; peer and group teaching. Observations, materials review and individual assignments are important components of this course. Offered spring semester in even years only. Prerequisite(s): Piano as primary instrument.
