This theory/laboratory course provides students with the knowledge and skills required to conduct a comprehensive health assessment using Gordon’s Functional Health Assessment Model. Patient health care needs will be determined by analyzing assessment data. Students will learn specific documentation standards and techniques. Principles of patient education will be introduced as a key health promotion strategy. Variations in assessment and health needs of patients in different age groups and cultures will be emphasized.
