CLS 426 - Women Writers in the Hispanic Tradition(3) Texts in Spanish authored by women during the 16th-19th centuries, plus selected theoretical works written in English. Each writer defined her relationship with Spain through varying degrees of identification and resistance; each was influenced by the linguistic and cultural heritage of Spain. Discussion of critical questions related to gender and sexuality. Taught in Spanish. (Same course offered as Span 425.)
