EDUC 603 - School Counseling Practicum
Practicum is the initial, supervised, Professional School Counseling experience. These clinical experiences are intended to provide school counselor candidates with an opportunity to perform, under supervision, a variety of counseling activities that a Professional School Counselor is expected to perform. At their placement site, students complete at least 100 clock hours with 40 of those hours in direct service to students in activities that contribute to the development of the Counselor Candidate’s counseling skills. Counselors receive university supervision during their on campus weekly class. Satisfactory performance at the field placement and during on campus class meetings must be demonstrated before students proceed to internship.
