EDUC 517 - Research Methods


This course provides students with the knowledge, skills and techniques to understand how to critically evaluate and conduct counseling, psychology and school counseling research; design research studies relevant to the practice of school counseling and apply research findings to inform the practice of school counseling. Students will study research designs and models of program evaluation, critically analyze and evaluate current research published in scholarly journals, develop research questions, and write a research proposal. The class will be presented in a hybrid manner, meeting on campus for five sessions during the semester.
