ENGL 294 - Classical Literature and Culture

Fulfills the General Education Humanities goal. This course provides students with a survey of Greek and Latin literature in translation from Homer to Ovid.  Historical and cultural contexts of political history, art and architecture, religious and philosophical thought are explored for grounding our readings.  Primary texts include samples of epic and lyric poetry, drama, history and philosophy. Prerequisite(s): UC 110  or ENGL 111 .
